Turning Heads, a San Francisco based non-profit, provides vocational arts education, entrepreneurship training, and develops young women leaders in San Francisco. Turning Heads youth will create one jacket, pattern piece by pattern piece. Each young woman will design and handcraft two pieces answering the question: “What does sewing mean to me?” Their love of sewing and the act of making the jacket as a team will bind them together as a community of young women. “Repair” is a community art project that will be showcased for a week at the CCA gallery at the San Francisco campus. The overarching goal is to give these young women the opportunity to express their creativity, and work together to bring this project to fruition, thus empowering these young women through the exhibition of their work.</p> <a
