Jane Segal:

Executive Director Jane Segal has over 20 years experience teaching, developing curriculum and working with youth of all ages. She was a founder of Turning Heads in 2003. She holds a California Multiple Subjects Credential, a BFA from California College of Art and is a Certified Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) Instructor, a national leader in providing entrepreneurship education to low-income youth. She directs the Sewing and Fashion Design Program and is the business and entrepreneur mentor for the young women operating Sweet Dreams.

Dioanna (Dee) Deem:

Studio manager and production mentor Dee has more than 15 years experience in retail, marketing, musical and theatrical performance. She has been sewing since she was 10 and studied pattern making at Apparel Arts Institute in San Francisco. She works at Imagiknit, the premier local yarn boutique. Dee was one of Turning Heads’ first sewing instructors and she loves sharing her knowledge of color, texture and design. She keeps the studio operating smoothly and is the production mentor for the young women of Sweet Dreams.

Richard Lee:

Instructor and mentor Richard Lee is a professional designer and the principal owner of Blondie Designs. Richard has over 40 years experience in the leather and sewing industries. He began sewing at 10 and as a teenager Richard sewed leather patches on jeans, made belts and worked at a local shoe repair store. As an adult Richard designed, produced and owned a custom leather clothing company. Currently, he is an independent designer, teacher and consultant. He instructs and mentors the members of Sweet Dreams in product development, marketing and advanced sewing technique.
